What is Sclerotheraphy?
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure administered by your healthcare provider to treat uncomplicated spider veins and uncomplicated reticular veins. The treatment involves the injection of a solution into affected veins.
Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the vein and area of focus. The injected solution causes the vein to scar, which forces blood to reroute through healthier veins.
The collapsed vein is reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades. After treatment, veins tend to fade within a few weeks. It may take a month or more to see full results. In some cases, several treatments may be needed.
